Georgia basketball has another piece of its nonconference slate in place: the Bulldogs will host Boston College in the 2026 ACC/SEC Challenge, per Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Rothstein reports the game is set for Tuesday, Dec. 1. A tip time and TV window haven’t been announced yet.
It’s a rare matchup. This will be just the second meeting ever between the two programs — the first came all the way back in 1968, when the Eagles slipped past Georgia 89-83. And the two could actually cross paths more than once this season, as both are slated to play in the 2026 ESPN Events Invitational in Orlando alongside UCF, Cincinnati and other teams still to be announced.
The ACC/SEC Challenge has been kind to Georgia under Mike White. The Bulldogs are 3-0 in the event since his first season in 2022-23, with wins over Florida State and Notre Dame. That run started with a 68-66 nail-biter in Tallahassee in 2023, followed by a 69-48 handling of Notre Dame in 2024 and a 107-73 rout of the Seminoles in 2025.
This year’s edition lands at Stegeman Coliseum, and that’s where Georgia has been at its best. White’s teams are 55-17 all-time at home — and a spotless 36-0 against nonconference opponents.
Boston College comes in looking to bounce back from an 11-20 (4-14 ACC) season and will be led by new head coach Luke Murray, the former UConn assistant hired on March 26.
The Boston College date is one of several ACC tests Georgia has lined up as it beefs up its nonconference schedule. The Bulldogs also visit North Carolina on Nov. 13, travel to Georgia Tech on a date still to be set, and meet reigning ACC champion Duke in the 2026 Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden.
