Georgia forward Kanon Catchings landed an invitation to the Jayson Tatum Elite Camp in Las Vegas, joining a dozen of the top wings in college basketball for the event. The camp, held June 30 through July 3, paired the players with Tatum and a group of top instructors for on- and off-court work.

The nod caps a breakout year for Catchings. A 6-9, 220-pound rising junior from Brownsburg, Indiana, he started 32 of 33 games and averaged 11.6 points last season, and he saved his best for SEC play. After scoring 8.8 points a game in November and December, Catchings jumped to 13.7 in conference action, where he led the league at 45.4 percent from 3-point range and ranked fourth in threes per game at 2.7.

His production stacked up across the season: 18 double-figure games, five 20-point efforts and a career-high 32 in an upset of then-No. 16 Alabama. Fourteen of those double-figure games and all five 20-point nights came against SEC opponents. He closed the regular season with SEC Player of the Week honors, averaging 27.5 points on 59.4 percent shooting (19-of-32) and 60.0 percent from deep (12-of-20) in pivotal wins over Alabama and Mississippi State that clinched Georgia’s second straight NCAA Tournament bid.

Tatum, who hosts the camp, was the No. 3 overall pick by the Boston Celtics in 2017. He’s a six-time All-Star and four-time first-team All-NBA selection who helped Boston win the 2024 NBA title and earned Olympic gold in 2020 and 2024.
