There’s plenty to feel good about with Georgia’s offensive line heading into the season, even with some turnover up front.

The Bulldogs return a pair of experienced hands in Drew Bobo and Earnest Greene, both of whom have multiple seasons of starting reps under their belts. Add in sophomores Dontrell Glover and Juan Gaston and there’s real room to build on what Georgia showed last year — even after losing left tackle Monroe Freeling, who went in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft to the Carolina Panthers.

Georgia does have two starting spots to fill. Even so, CBS Sports’ Blake Brockmeyer slotted the Bulldogs’ line at No. 1 in the country entering 2026.

“The Bulldogs return a young, talented offensive line led by center Drew Bobo, who enters the season as my top center in the country,” Brockmeyer wrote. He pointed to Bobo’s nearly 1,000 career snaps at center and his reliability, and praised Glover as a “physical mauler on the interior” after more than 750 snaps as a true freshman starter, while noting there’s room for Glover to tighten up his pass protection.

Bobo does carry a question mark into the fall. He suffered a season-ending foot injury against Georgia Tech last November that required surgery, and he wasn’t able to practice with the team this spring. The fact that he’s slated to be one of Georgia’s player reps at SEC media days is a good sign — both for how much the program leans on him and for the possibility that he’ll open the season close to full strength. Expect his foot to be a hot topic in Tampa next week.

There’s a coaching change up front, too. Phil Rauscher takes over as offensive line coach, though he’s no stranger to the room after spending last season as an analyst. Stacy Searels is also still around, having shifted into an analyst role this offseason.

The other spot to sort out is at left guard, where Micah Morris started every game a year ago. Glover is expected to slide from right guard to left to fill it. That opens things up on the right side, where freshman Zykie Helton got the start in the spring game and quickly turned heads — he’s viewed as a real piece of this line going forward.

Helton isn’t the only young lineman Georgia is high on. Tackle Ekene Ogboko was the Bulldogs’ top-rated signee in the 2026 class, coming in as the No. 36 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite. With Greene having missed time in each of the last two seasons, building depth behind him at left tackle is going to matter.

The good news is Georgia should be able to lean on the run. The Bulldogs return their top four rushers from last season, which gives them a way to control games while the passing attack finds its footing.

We’ll get our first look at whether the hype holds up on Sept. 5, when Georgia opens the season against Tennessee State.
